Mall Hours (2025)
Two-channel, synchronized HD video, color, sound, 10:00 minutes, looped.
Installation views: Tweed Museum of Art, Duluth, MN, 2025.

Two videos depict a fictional shopping mall. The architecture is digitally collaged from video clips of physical objects filmed in a green screen studio. Everything is made of mundane materials, including shoeboxes, paper towel rolls, cotton, and foam board. Similarly, the animated elements are created by hand using stop-motion or puppeteering by the artist wearing a green screen suit in the studio.

The audio features music written and performed by the artist.

The video cycles through a full day in which the sun and moon rise and fall as the mall interior keeps its own time with displays, lights, and security gates.
